Afandou beach (6 km long), a long stretch of sand and small pebble beach with crystal clear water, is within a 10 minute walk and it is perfect for relexing and swimming. Afandou village with its large square and the church at its heart surrounded by old plane trees give umbrellas shade for all roadside cafes, people watching spot offer amenities like shops, supermarkets, ATM, pharmacy, post office and of course many bars and cafes. Taverns and cafes can also be found on the beach promenade and the main street. Afantou also have the largest supermarket on the island with good prices and an ATM. The local water park in Faliraki is only a 5 minute drive away and offers a great day of water fun. You will also find a wide selection of beaches and coves within driving distance - Anthony Quinn Bay, Tsambika Beach (shallow waters, excellent sand for young children) and of course the fantastic 4 km long sandy beach of Faliraki. Here you can try a variety of water sports and enjoy many boat trips to Rhodes Town or just cruising the local bays. Take the bus (bus station is 5min. From the house) or drive a car and visit the medieval castle in Rhodes town which is a 20 minute drive. Lindos the beautiful village with the traditional Greek white houses is only 15 minutes away. There you can drive donkeys with your friends or family to the castle. Lindos has 2 beautiful beaches on each side with golden sand and blue water. Lindos is the place to find the really active night life, with roof top bars and nightclubs. If you are driving to Lindos don't forget to stop at seven springs to have a snack and walk through the 180 meter tunnel with your family or friends. Seven Springs is an amazing place with a nice restaurant / cafe in the middle of the forest. Clear water is called seven springs from the bottom in seven places a small river that ends up coming through the tunnel to a green lagoon. A variety of birds such as peacock and river ducks can be seen coming hopping around you could give them some bread. Other beautiful places to visit is Monolithos across to the wilder areas, which we particularly like. When your feet are enough, take the 300 steps that lead to the top of the mountain from Tsampika Hill. Enjoy the panoramic view and forget to take your camera with you. The famous Byzantine monastery of Tsampika is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
